DJ video wall questions before you put it on the TV
DJIVE is an interactive video wall plugin for VirtualDJ. Guests scan a QR on your screens. You approve shoutouts, song requests, and photos from the booth. These are the questions that come up most.
What is DJIVE Video Wall?
DJIVE is an interactive video wall plugin for VirtualDJ. It puts a guest wall on the video output that already feeds your TV or LED: a QR card, a big highlight, and a chat stack. Guests on the venue Wi-Fi scan, send shoutouts, song requests, and photos. You approve what goes up from the booth.
What is a DJ video wall?
A DJ video wall is the screen the room is looking at while you mix — club LED, bar TV, wedding projector — with live graphics on top of the video. DJIVE is the overlay: shoutouts, requests, votes, and a QR, sitting on that same output. You do not buy a new LED wall. You use the screens you already feed from VirtualDJ.
What is an interactive video wall?
An interactive video wall lets the crowd take part, not just watch a loop. With DJIVE, people join the venue Wi-Fi, scan the QR on the wall, and send shoutouts, song requests from your library, photos, votes, and tips. Those posts hit the TV after you approve them. That is the interactive layer on a DJ video wall.
Is this an LED video wall I have to buy?
No. DJIVE is software. It is a VirtualDJ Video FX overlay for the video wall, TV, or projector you already have. If the venue has an LED wall, plug VirtualDJ into it as usual and enable DJIVE on that slot. You are not buying panels from us.
How does a video wall DJ set this up?
Fully quit VirtualDJ. Download DJIVE Video Wall.dll, copy it into the VideoEffect folder, enable it on the slot that feeds the screens, Install Node if this PC needs it, then tap Update. The booth menu opens with the plugin. Guests need the same venue Wi-Fi as the DJ PC.
Is this a VirtualDJ plugin?
Yes. It is a Windows Video FX overlay named DJIVE Video Wall. You drop the DLL into VirtualDJ’s VideoEffect folder and enable it on the slot that feeds the screens. The booth menu opens when you start the plugin.
How is this different from Ask the DJ?
Ask the DJ is a web page on VirtualDJ’s site. DJIVE is an overlay on your video wall. Guests stay on the venue Wi-Fi, the join address stays off the screens, requests come from your actual library, and nothing hits the wall until you approve it. Tips and photos have their own booth queues.
Do guests need an app?
No. They join the free venue Wi-Fi, scan the QR on the video wall, and use their phone browser. There is no public URL on the wall for people off the Wi-Fi to find.
Can they request any song?
No. They search your live VirtualDJ library on this PC and any plugged-in VirtualDJ drive. Remixes stack. They pick a track you have, so you are not hunting songs you do not own.
Can I use Pro on more than one computer?
No. A Pro licence stays on the computer you first sign in on. A second PC with the same key stays on Basic. If you change machines, ask DJIVE to unlink it, then sign in on the new PC.
Can I change how guest phones look?
On Pro, yes. Open Settings, Brand. Drop in a photo, add up to three lines of words, and drag the boxes on a phone preview. DJive Theme is the usual page and cannot be changed — save a new look and pick it for phones. Free always shows DJIVE at DJive.co.uk.
Does it work for weddings?
Yes. Pick the Wedding theme in Settings, Display, TV. Run a bride or groom vote, let guests shout out, and words like wedding, marry, and birthday fire backdrop animations behind the panels. The booth layout stays the same.
How do I install it?
Fully quit VirtualDJ. Download the zip from DJive.co.uk, unzip DJIVE Video Wall.dll, and copy it to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualDJ\Plugins64\VideoEffect. Enable it on the video slot. First time: Install Node if this PC needs it, then tap Update.
Do you take tip money?
No. You paste a PayPal.Me or bank pay-me link. Guests open that link. DJIVE never takes the money or saves payment details. Tips wait on your Tips tab until you confirm them on the wall.
Will it slow VirtualDJ down?
The overlay sits on the video slot you already use. The local server starts with VirtualDJ and stops when VirtualDJ closes. Update only downloads when you tap Update in the booth.
