DJIVE
The night, in one loop
- 01The TV shows a QR card: join the free venue Wi-Fi, then scan. Short lines fade in and out with what you can do once you are in.
- 02Phones open the guest wall: Live, Message the DJ, and Tip the DJ (when you have a pay link). A small Venue login is at the bottom for the manager. They can upload the venue logo there so every venue notice uses it as the photo.
- 03People send a shoutout, pick a track from your library, snap a photo, or tip you. You can also type a shoutout or add a photo from Messages and show it on the wall yourself. The manager can post a venue notice that jumps to next on the big card.
- 04You approve guest posts from the booth (or auto-approve shoutouts and photos when you want the room to run itself). Tips wait on the Tips tab until you confirm them. Venue notices jump to next on the big card.
- 05The post hits the big highlight first. It is not in the side chat yet. When its time is up it flies into its own row in the stack. If another post is already huge, this one waits. Venue and DJ posts jump to next. When the wall plays it again, it flies out of that same row and back into it.
- 06Guests react with emoji. Enough reacts in the time you set (starts at 8 in 60 seconds; change it in Settings, Display, Hot) floats fire emojis up that sidebar chat card, and on the big card if it is still on the highlight. You can run a live vote. Certain words on a shoutout fire one backdrop animation behind the panels.
On the TV
A clean overlay on your VirtualDJ video output:
Chat stack
approved shoutouts, requests, photos, tips, poll results, and venue notices, colour-coded by type (tips in gold). A new post joins this stack after its highlight, flying into that row. Venue posts have a glowing, fiery border so they read as more important. If you turn on guest name colours, each person can pick a colour that follows them all night; if they skip it, your type colour is used. A post that gets enough reacts in the time you set floats fire emojis up inside that chat card in the side stack.
Big highlight
new posts pop large (photos even larger), stay for the time you set (3-60 seconds), then fly into their row in the chat. They do not sit in the side chat first. If another post is already on the big card, the new one waits its turn so everyone gets their time. Venue and DJ posts jump to next. When the wall plays a post again, it flies out of that same chat row and back into it. The name and message sit in the middle and grow or shrink to fill the box, so a short line is huge and a long one still fits. A tip highlight rains gold coins and hearts behind the panels. A venue notice has warmer type, with flames behind it. If that post is already hot, those backdrops stay off and fire emojis float up inside the big card instead.
QR card
join the free Wi-Fi and scan, then short lines fade through what guests can do: shoutouts, request a song from the DJ's song list, send a photo, vote in live polls, tip the DJ (when you have a pay link), and react. The guest join address stays off the screens; it is only for you. After the QR, a centred block holds the logo, the join lines, and the website along the bottom of that block at half the size of the other text so nothing overlaps. On Free that site is DJive.co.uk. Pro can swap the logo and website.
Live vote
title, timer, and 2-4 bars that fill as votes come in. When a message is up, the highlight splits (message one side, vote the other). When the wall is idle, the vote goes full-size. Idle shoutout replays pause until the vote ends. A unique winner gets a gold WINNER and a glow; a draw or no votes shows red NO WINNER with a thumbs down. Then the result drops into the chat stack and stays as part of the night. If you add a picture, it sits on the left like the QR card, with the title and bars on the right.
Word backdrops
party animations play behind the panels so names and messages stay readable. Only one plays at a time, from the first trigger word. If the highlight is already hot, fire emojis sit on that card instead. Turn word backdrops, tip coins, and venue flames on or off separately in Settings, Display, Look.
Drag the three boxes (chat, QR, highlight) into place with Edit layout. VirtualDJ remembers the positions. Pulse with the beat, set opacity, and pick colours for shoutouts, requests, photos, and venue notices. In Settings, Display, TV pick a theme for the TV and guest phones: Club (the nightclub look), Wedding (champagne and gold), Event (sharp navy for launches and awards), Lounge (wine and brass), or Garden (sage for daytime and outdoor). The booth moderator stays the same.
On guest phones
Phones on the venue Wi-Fi get a simple three-tab page. The DJIVE logo (or your Pro logo) is tappable and opens the brand website. The logo sits in the centre. On Free, DJive.co.uk sits centred under it. Pro can put a photo and words behind the whole page from Settings, Brand. Pick the look on phones there: DJive Theme is the usual page. Save a new look in the editor. DJive Theme cannot be changed or overwritten. If you are editing the look that is on phones, changes go live. If you are not, phones stay as they are. The phone in the editor is the guest app: logo, Live wall, the line under it, tabs, chat, and venue login. The editor fits the screen with a small bar each side of the phone. Tap Live, Message, or Tip to edit that tab. Drag those, pull a corner to resize, then Centre panel to sit a box in the middle of the phone without changing its size. Tap Live wall or the line under it for left, centre, or right, plus size and colour. Chat and the tab buttons sit see-through on the photo. They stay on the phone — you can drag a box to the edge, and moving it does not shrink it. They stay on the page, and stay big enough to tap. Guests still use the same Live, Message, and Tip tabs.
Live
- See what is on the screens right now, including poll results after a vote ends.
- React with 👍 ❤️ 😂 🔥 👏 🎉. Pro can turn on a full emoji picker. You can turn live reactions off in Settings, Guests.
- Vote when you start a poll: one tap per phone, or unlimited if you turn that on.
Message the DJ
Shout out
name plus a short message (up to 180 characters). If you have name colours on, they can pick a colour once. Every shout they send keeps it. If they skip it, your shoutout colour is used.
Request
search the DJ’s actual VirtualDJ library by song or artist, including this PC and any plugged-in VirtualDJ drive. It matches as you type (temp finds temperature). Remixes and close names of the same track collapse to one result, but every different song still shows. No fake “anything goes” box: they pick a track you have. Repeat requests stack so you see how many people want it. In the booth you can still search that song in VirtualDJ if you want another version.
Photo
from the camera roll or take one on the spot.
Tip the DJ
- Only appears once you paste a PayPal or Bank pay-me link in Settings.
- Name, optional message, then £2 / £5 / £10 / £20 (or type another amount).
- If you set both PayPal and Bank, they get Tip DJ with PayPal and Tip DJ with Bank. DJIVE never takes the money or saves payment details: it only opens the link.
- If wall queue is on, that tap lands on your Tips tab so you can confirm it before the room sees it.
You can switch off messages, requests, or photos independently. If a type is off, it disappears from their phone. Tipping only appears once you paste a PayPal or Bank pay-me link in Settings.
A small Venue login sits at the bottom. The manager asks you for tonight's 5-digit PIN (under the usage bar in the booth). They type it, set the venue name, and can upload the venue logo. The logo is remembered and sits on the left of every venue notice, like a photo. Notices go straight on the wall — no approve step. Each time you start VirtualDJ you get a new PIN. The name and logo they pick are remembered for next time. The PIN stays in the booth. It is not on the QR card or the TV.
In the booth
Two ways to run the night: same tools. A bar under the tabs shows this week's shoutouts, requests, votes, and tips (12/200) or Pro Plan Unlimited. Under that is tonight's Venue PIN to give the manager. Queue lists are card rows with a colour for shoutouts, requests, photos, tips, and venue notices.

Messages
Type a name and message at the top, or add a photo, then Show on wall — it jumps to next on the big card. Shoutouts count toward this week's limit. Photos are Pro. Guest posts still wait here: Approve & show, reject, view a photo full-size before it goes up, or block that phone.
Requests
Your library, live from VirtualDJ. Columns: When · Song · Qty. Search a selected track in VirtualDJ, mark Played (green) or Refuse (red) so you can organise the list without wiping it, then clear when you are done. Duplicate asks for the same song, including remixes, stack into one line with a count.
Tips
Guest tips wait here. They do not auto-post, even if auto-approve is on. Check the money in your app, then Approve & show so the gold shout hits the wall with coins and hearts. Reject or block from here too. Free greys this tab with Purchase Pro plan to unlock and a link to DJive.co.uk. A PRO tag marks Tips, Album, and Brand.
Rejected
Kept on purpose. Restore a post you bounced too fast, or block / unblock that phone from here.
Live
Everything currently on the wall, including poll results after a vote ends, and venue notices. Show a favourite again, remove one, view the photo, or block. Reacts stay unlimited on Free.
Vote
Title, 2-4 answers, and two timer buttons: Length (how long it runs) or End at local time on this PC. End at fills the clock with the time now so you can nudge it. Pro can add an optional picture that sits on the left like the QR card, with the title and bars on the right, on phones and the TV; Free and Basic grey that row with Purchase Pro plan to unlock. Then Start / Stop. Guests vote on Live. Bars on the TV fill with the count, shake, and pop a colour burst at the tip as they grow. When time is up, a unique winner gets a gold WINNER in the timer slot, losing bars ease out, and that answer glows. A draw or no votes shows red NO WINNER with a thumbs down, and every bar eases out. Then the result drops into the chat stack and stays as part of the night. Free has no polls. After the Basic poll is used, the start controls grey out with the Pro unlock link until next week.
Settings
Open Settings, then pick a tab for that group of options:
Display
inner tabs so the list stays short.
TV
overlay, QR, beat pulse, edit layout, how solid the wall is, and the wall theme (Club, Wedding, Event, Lounge, Garden — TV and guest phones only; the booth stays the same).
Highlight
auto-approve, idle repeat, pop-up, how long the big card stays (3-60 seconds).
Hot
fire on a busy chat, how many reacts, how many seconds they have after it goes live.
Look
word backdrops, tip coins, venue flames, and chat colours for shoutouts, requests, photos, and venue notices.
Guests
what phones can send (messages, requests, photos), live reactions, full emoji picker, multiple reactions, unlimited voting, and guest name colours. Photos and the full emoji picker have a PRO tag and are off on Free.
Tips
paste PayPal.Me and a Bank pay-me (Monzo, Revolut, or Starling). Settings tells you where to copy each link. Turn on “queue tips so you can show them on the wall” if you want each tap to land on the Tips tab for you to confirm. Free greys this tab until you go Pro. A PRO tag marks it.
Album
photos save to a folder you choose so you keep a night album. Open it, change it, or clear it. Free greys this tab until you go Pro. A PRO tag marks it.
Brand
Pro: your venue website and PNG logo on the QR card and guest phones. PNG with a transparent background. Wide 800 x 200 works best; square 512 x 512 also works. Max 2 MB. Pro can also set a guest app background from Settings, Brand: drop in a photo, drag the photo and words around the phone to place them, resize and fade, darken if you need the page readable, and up to three lines of words with their own colour, size, and how solid. The phone sits in the middle of the editor. Photo and words are on the left. Live, Message, Tip, the selected box, and looks are on the right. The bars stay small so the whole editor fits the screen. Drag the logo, Live wall, the line under it, tabs, chat, and venue login to move them, pull the corner to resize, and set colour and how solid. Centre panel sits the selected box in the middle of the phone and keeps the size you set. Tap Live wall or the line under it to set left, centre, or right, and the size. Chat and the tab buttons sit see-through on the photo. They cannot leave the phone, cannot be turned off, and cannot shrink so small they will not work. Drag a box to the edge of the phone; moving it does not change its size. Save a named look on this PC. DJive Theme is the usual guest page and cannot be changed — save it as another name. Pick the look on phones in Settings, Brand. If you are editing the look that is on phones, changes go live. If you are not, phones stay as they are. Load a look in the editor, tap Update to overwrite that look, delete one, or reset the editor to DJive Theme. Free always shows DJIVE at DJive.co.uk. A PRO tag marks it.
Blocked
unblock one phone or all of them.
Account
log in, paste a Pro key, or open the DJIVE site to pay. Log out forgets the saved email, password, and key and puts the wall back on Free. Install Node lives here, and also on the first-run Update screen if Node is not on this PC. When Node is ready the button reads Node installed and cannot be clicked.
Show next, skip, clear chat, and browser mod stay at the bottom of Settings.
Info
Open Info in the booth moderator for the full guide without leaving the mix. Pages use headings, short blocks, and numbered steps so they are easy to read. Inner tabs cover Start, Features, Booth, Vote, Tips, Words, Help, and Update: how the night runs, what is on the TV and phones, how to vote and tip, the word list, what to try if something is off, and this PC vs DJive.co.uk. The first time, Info only shows Update. If Node is not on this PC, tap Install Node first. Update stays locked until Node is ready, then it says Click Update. Nothing downloads until you tap Update. When it finishes, please restart VirtualDJ so it can load if the plugin itself was replaced. If DJive.co.uk cannot be reached, the tab says so. The same pages are on the browser moderator.
Close the moderator with X; reopen it from the plugin. A tray icon keeps it in reach.
Plans
Free
(no account) every week: 25 shoutouts, 25 song requests, no live polls, and live reacts. Overlay, QR, and the booth moderator stay on. A bar under the booth tabs shows the count (12/25). Bits you cannot use (tips, photos, album, polls, a picture on a poll) grey out with Purchase Pro plan to unlock and a link straight to DJive.co.uk. On the QR card the logo, join lines, and website sit in one centred block after the code, with the website half the size of the other text.
Basic
(free DJIVE account) every week: 200 shoutouts, 50 song requests, 1 live poll, and live reacts. Same overlay and booth tools. After the weekly poll is used, Vote greys out until next week.
Pro
is £10. Pay once for a month, or subscribe for £10 a month. You get unlimited shoutouts, requests, and polls, plus guest photos, Tip the DJ, word animations, a picture on a poll, the gold coins-and-hearts tip highlight, and the full emoji picker. The usage bar reads Pro Plan Unlimited. In Settings, Brand you can set your own website link and a PNG logo (transparent, 800 x 200 wide or 512 x 512 square, max 2 MB) for the QR card and guest phones, and a guest app background (photo plus words behind the page).
Sign in from Settings, Account (same email as the DJIVE website at DJive.co.uk) or paste the unique key created when you pay. Pro stays on the computer you first sign in on. If you change PCs, DJIVE can unlink it so the next sign-in binds the new one. A second computer with the same key stays on Basic. On the website, open Billing to see how many days of Pro you have left. Pay £10 once for a month, or subscribe for £10 a month by card through Stripe. A one-time month does not renew — buy another month or subscribe before it runs out. Subscribe renews until you cancel. Complimentary licences do not need a card. The plugin checks that key every 7 days. If it is not active, the wall drops back to Basic while you stay signed in, or Free if you log out. Log out to forget the saved login and key and run as Free until you sign in again.
On Billing, above Buy and Subscribe, enter a live code and tap Apply. A discount updates the price on those buttons. A referral code (DJ-XXXXXX, not a name) links the payment to the person who shared it so they earn credit when you pay.
Complimentary Pro keys can be issued for a set number of days, or with no expiry, from the DJIVE admin page.
If DJIVE turns on Create code, open Referrals and tap it. DJIVE makes a DJ-XXXXXX code and starts your credit. Share the code or the link. You earn when someone enters that code above Buy and Subscribe and then pays for Pro (default £1 per paid signup; DJIVE can set a different amount). Credit can be redeemed for days of Pro (£10 is about one month), or DJIVE can adjust the balance or pay you out.
From your DJIVE account, Support, open a ticket and pick a type: Bug, General, Licence, Billing, Feature, or Other. Each ticket is its own conversation. You can attach a photo (JPG, PNG, GIF, or WebP, under 4 MB). It shows New until DJIVE replies, Pending Response after a reply, and Closed when you or DJIVE close it.
Live voting
Run a crowd poll without leaving the mix.
Custom title (“Who is having the best night?”, “Next anthem?”, “Bride or groom?”).
Two to four answers.
Optional picture on the poll (Pro): on the TV it sits on the left like the QR card, with the title and bars on the right. Same on phones.
Countdown on phones and on the TV: Length from a few seconds up to 24 hours, or End at local time on the DJ PC (the clock fills with the time now).
One vote per phone by default. Turn on unlimited voting when you want a noise-meter, not a ballot.
When it ends with a unique winner, a gold WINNER takes the timer slot, losing bars ease out, and that answer glows. A draw or no votes shows red NO WINNER with a thumbs down, and every bar eases out. Then the result drops into the chat stack and stays as part of the night. Stop vote posts that result now and takes the live poll off the highlight.
While a vote is running, idle shoutout replay pauses so the poll stays the focus.
Tipping
Set this up once in Settings, then guests can buy you a drink from their phone.
Paste the links
you can add PayPal and Bank so people have more than one way to pay:
PayPal
in PayPal, open PayPal.Me and copy paypal.me/YourName.
Monzo
in the Monzo app, Payments → Pay me, copy monzo.me/yourname.
Revolut
copy your Revolut.me link (revolut.me/yourname).
Starling
in the app, create a Settle Up link and paste that.
High-street banks (Barclays, HSBC, NatWest, Lloyds and the rest) do not give you a simple “pay me” web link. PayPal or a neobank is the seamless route.
Guests pick an amount, can leave a short message, then tap Tip DJ with PayPal or Tip DJ with Bank. No payment details are saved and none of their info is used. All payments go through Bank or PayPal. DJIVE only acts as a link between them and you.
Queue for the wall
when this is on, tapping Tip lands on your Tips tab. You confirm it, then their name, “tipped £5”, and any message hit the chat and the big highlight (gold, with coins and hearts behind the panels). Turn it off if you want the pay link without a public shout.
The wall shows the tap you approved, not a bank confirmation, so you still check the money in your app before you hit Approve & show.
Word animations
If a shoutout or photo caption contains these whole words, a backdrop plays for as long as that highlight is up. Requests and tips do not trigger them. Effects sit behind the chat, QR, and highlight so people can still read. Only one backdrop plays at a time: if they write more than one trigger word, the first one in the message wins. A tip highlight always rains gold coins and hearts. A venue notice always plays flames. Turn background animations off in Settings, Display, Look if you want the wall quiet. If that post is already hot from 8 reacts in the first 60 seconds, those backdrops stay off and fire emojis float up inside the highlight card instead, and keep floating in that chat card in the side stack. Turn hot animations off in Settings, Display, Look to skip the fire emojis. Turn live reactions off in Settings, Guests to hide tapping on phones.

Only the first trigger word in a message plays. “glove” will not fire love. “hometown” uses the home animation; it will not false-trigger on a random “home” inside another word.
You stay in control
Nothing hits the TV until you say so, unless you turn auto-approve on for shoutouts and photos. Tips still wait on the Tips tab.
Click a guest photo in the queue to check it full-size first.
Block a phone if someone is a problem. Unblock later from Settings.
Turn off photos, requests, or messages for a quieter set.
Guest photos land in your album folder, not loose on the plugin drive.
The local server starts with VirtualDJ and stops when VirtualDJ closes.
Built for VirtualDJ
DJIVE Video Wall is a Video FX overlay. Add it on the output that feeds the TV.
Download the plugin from DJive.co.uk, Download — no account needed. Or from your DJIVE account, Downloads, if you already have one. Close VirtualDJ, unzip, and copy DJIVE Video Wall.dll into VirtualDJ’s VideoEffect folder (%LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualDJ\Plugins64\VideoEffect, or Documents\VirtualDJ\Plugins64\VideoEffect on older installs).
Enable DJIVE Video Wall on that video slot. The booth menu opens when you start the plugin. The first time, Install Node if it is not on this PC. Update stays locked until Node is ready. Then it says Click Update. Tap Update to download the rest of DJIVE from DJive.co.uk. After that the full booth menu unlocks.
Open Info, Update to see this PC version and the DJive.co.uk version. Tap Update to install. Nothing downloads until you tap it. When it finishes, please restart VirtualDJ so it can load if the plugin itself was replaced. If DJive.co.uk cannot be reached, the tab says so. The same running list of what changed is on DJive.co.uk, Updates, and in your account under Downloads.
If guest phones will not load, open Settings, Account and tap Install Node. When it is done the button reads Node installed.

Why it works in a real room
Guests already have phones. You already have a TV. DJIVE connects them without putting a URL on the wall.
Requests are from your song list, so you are not hunting tracks you do not own.
The highlight is a moment; the chat is the memory of the night.
Voting and word FX give you crowd bits you can call on the mic: “say birthday”, “vote now”, and the screens do the rest.
Moderation is built for a busy booth: approve, refuse, played, block, next, skip. No extra app to babysit.
